Terms of Service
Last updated 11 August 2026. These terms cover CodexAI at codexai.quest.
These are the rules for using CodexAI. They are a contract between you and CodexAI LLC, and you accept them by creating an account or using the service. If you do not agree with them, do not use CodexAI.
How your data is handled is a separate document: the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
CodexAI Is In Alpha
This matters more than anything else on this page, so it is first.
CodexAI is early software. Features change, break, and are removed. Analysis may be wrong. The service may be unavailable without warning. Alpha accounts and everything in them may be disabled or deleted when an alpha period ends, and we may end an alpha period at any time.
Do not make CodexAI the only home for anything you cannot afford to lose. Your builds can be exported to Path of Building at any time, and you should do that if a build matters to you.
Your Account
You must be at least 16 to use CodexAI. One account per person. Give us a real email address — it is how we verify the account and how you recover it.
You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your password to yourself and tell us promptly if you think someone else has access. We will never ask you for your password, and we never ask for your Path of Exile password at all.
Registration may require an access code while CodexAI is invitation-limited. Access codes are ours to issue, limit, and revoke, and sharing one may cost you the account it created.
What You May Not Do
Use CodexAI to analyse and improve Path of Exile builds. Do not:
- post hate speech, harassment, sexual content involving minors, or content that is illegal where you or we are;
- spam, advertise, or use CodexAI to promote unrelated products or services;
- attempt to break, overload, or circumvent the service — including rate limits, message quotas, tier restrictions, and access controls;
- scrape or bulk-extract data from CodexAI, or use automated tools against it beyond ordinary use of the product;
- resell, sublicense, or redistribute CodexAI's analysis as your own service;
- access another person's account or data, or misrepresent who you are;
- upload anything you do not have the right to share, or anything containing malware;
- use CodexAI in a way that breaks Grinding Gear Games' own terms.
Some of this is enforced automatically. Text you submit is checked before it is saved or sent, repeated violations are recorded against your account, and accounts can be suspended. That enforcement is imperfect in both directions — if you think it got you wrong, contact us.
Do not put passwords, payment details, or other sensitive information into any field in the product, including the Assistant.
Path of Exile And Grinding Gear Games
CodexAI is not affiliated with or endorsed by Grinding Gear Games. Path of Exile, its data, and its artwork belong to them, and your use of their game and API is governed by their terms, not ours.
You connect your Path of Exile account at your own choice and can disconnect it at any time. We read your characters. We never write to your account, and we never ask for your Path of Exile password.
Grinding Gear Games' data stays free on CodexAI. We may charge for work we do — analysis, simulation, tooling, aggregated statistics — but we will never put imported character data, item data, or Path of Exile artwork behind a payment. This is a condition of our API access and a commitment to you.
If Grinding Gear Games changes or withdraws API access, features that depend on it may change or disappear, and that is outside our control.
Guidance, Not Guarantees
CodexAI produces analysis, scores, recommendations and AI-generated answers. All of it is guidance. None of it is a guarantee.
Numbers computed by the build engine reflect a model of the game, not the game itself, and may differ from what happens in play. The Assistant can be wrong, including confidently. Item and market suggestions may be out of date, mispriced, or unavailable.
Decisions about your character, your currency, and your time are yours. We are not liable for in-game losses, wasted currency, deleted or altered characters, or any other outcome of acting on CodexAI's guidance. Check anything that matters before you act on it.
Your Content
What you create stays yours — your build names, notes, goals, conversations, and the characters you import.
To run the service you give us permission to store it, process it, and show it back to you; to send the relevant parts to the providers listed in the Privacy Policy so a feature can work; and to include it in aggregate, anonymised statistics as that policy describes. That permission is limited to operating and improving CodexAI. It does not let us publish anything identifying you, and it ends for future use when you delete the content or your account.
If you make something public — sharing a Hero Card, for instance — you are choosing to publish it, and you are responsible for what it contains.
You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload. We can remove content that breaks these terms.
Our Content
CodexAI's software, design, branding, written guidance, scoring systems, and the analysis it produces belong to CodexAI LLC, except for the third-party material described above. You get permission to use the service, not ownership of it.
You may share CodexAI output — screenshots, Hero Cards, an analysis you found useful — including on streams and in videos. You may not repackage it as a competing service or present it as your own.
Free And Paid Plans
CodexAI has a free tier with limits — on saved builds and Assistant messages, among others — which are shown in the product. We may change those limits. If a change would reduce what a paid plan already gives you, we will tell you before it takes effect.
Payments are handled by our payment provider as merchant of record. They are the seller for the transaction: they take the payment, hold your billing details, and issue your receipt. Their terms apply to the payment itself. CodexAI never receives your card details.
Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time, and access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not pro-rate part-months.
League Passes are different: they are one-time purchases, not subscriptions. A pass lasts until the current Path of Exile league ends and then simply expires — nothing renews, and nothing further is charged. League end dates are set by Grinding Gear Games, not by us, so a pass's exact length varies with the league. Buying one near the end of a league buys the remainder of that league.
If a payment fails we may keep your access briefly while it retries, then move the account to the free tier. We may change prices, with notice before your next renewal.
Refunds: because CodexAI is alpha software, if it does not do what you expected, contact us and we will refund a recent payment. Refunds are issued through our payment provider. Statutory rights to a refund, where you have them, are not affected by anything here.
Availability
We do not promise any level of uptime. CodexAI depends on services we do not control — Grinding Gear Games' API, our AI provider, our host — and any of them can fail or change. We may add, change, suspend, or remove features at any time.
Ending It
You can stop at any time. Deactivate your account from your profile — that closes it and keeps everything, so it can be reopened — or erase it, from the same page or by asking us. The Privacy Policy says what erasure removes and what it does not.
Closing your account is not cancelling your plan, and the two are separate actions. Deactivating or erasing your CodexAI account does not tell our payment provider anything: a subscription keeps renewing and keeps charging until you cancel it with them. Cancel there first if you are finished. Time on a plan you did not use — because the account was closed, dormant, or you simply stopped visiting — is not refunded, and a League Pass is not refunded for the remainder of its league. This does not affect the alpha refund above, or any statutory right you have.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is being used to harm the service or another person, or where we are required to. Where it is reasonable to do so we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond. For serious cases — illegal content, attacks on the service — we may act immediately.
If we close your paid account for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund the unused part of your period. If we close it because you broke these terms, we will not.
Disclaimers And Liability
CodexAI is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted operation.
To the fullest extent the law allows, CodexAI LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, for lost profits, lost data, or lost in-game progress or currency. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to whichever is greater: the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty United States dollars.
Some places do not allow these exclusions. Where that is true, they do not apply to you, and nothing here removes rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.
You agree to cover our reasonable costs if a claim is brought against us because of your content, your use of CodexAI, or your breach of these terms.
Changes
We update these terms as CodexAI changes, and the date at the top moves when we do. For material changes — pricing, your rights, what we may do with your content — we will tell you before they take effect. Continuing to use CodexAI after that is how you accept them. If you do not accept them, close your account.
Law And Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules, and the state and federal courts located in Kansas have jurisdiction — except where the law of the place you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally, which it may.
If part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still stands. Not enforcing something immediately does not waive our right to enforce it later.
